What a great picture. (JFLS 2)

What a great picture. This picture was developed in June 1967. We moved in to this house, 7695 Mitchell Drive at Edwards AFB, California in August 1965 from 107 11th Street when Dad was promoted which authorized a move up the housing ladder. Not knowing for sure when this picture was taken, i.e. we are guessing sometime from August 1965 to December 1966, and if so then from left to right, Don Jr was 10 to 11, Jeff was 5 to 6, Tim was18 mos to 2, and Mike was 9 to10, years old. Don nor Mike look very old but Tim has to be at least 1 and a half to 2 so…? Maybe one of you can remember something that will pull the date or ages together better. If so, let us know. Obviously it was in the backyard and still warm enough to be shirtless, but remember that we had long summers at Edwards.. Either way it looks like one of those good days, probably on the weekend and we probably wound up having a water fight as we often did. Jennifer was not born yet.

Clothing must not have been a big concern by all appearances considering the big hole in Jeff’s pants and the frayed shorts on Mike. They look like they are having a fun time though, each with his own particular pose, kind of unique huh? We think the house is in the background with a picnic bench between them and the house, so it must have been a backyard picnic activity. We had a lot of those. Mom always had something good cooked up and we all enjoyed it. Anyone of them could have had a water balloon hidden ready to start the fight or maybe the water hose prepped to start the malay. Boy, we miss those days. Need to sit and think about them more. Only the guy upstairs knows how much we love these boys.
