This was a special day. (JFLS 6)

This was a special day. Our family was now complete, at least to the best of our knowledge. Jennifer Ruth was born 25 January 1968 and was now living with us at 7695 Mitchell Drive, Edwards AFB, California. We were all very happy. The first picture is of her and Don Jr; the second picture is of her and Mike; the third picture is of her and Jeff and Tim; the fourth picture is of her and Mom; and the fifth picture is of her and Dad.

All of the boys are carrying the typical Jenkins’ crew cut. Jeff’s haircut looks like it has grown out a little though. Jennifer looks comfortable and doesn’t seem to be too concerned. We figure these pictures were probably taken in February or March of 1968 and even at that it couldn’t have been to cold seeing that only Don and Tim have their sweaters on. No one really looks as if they’re very uncomfortable. Little did any of us know at this point that within seven months or so we would be in Elyria, Ohio in the Oakwood Apartments and Dad would be on his way to South East Asia for a year. Another time of school changing and family separation, making new friends and getting used to new teachers. Not always the best of circumstances but it definitely brought on new experiences in different places of the world when we moved and this would keep up for thirty-one more years before we would decide to settle down for a while. We have a great family. There is much love here.
